Nagarkot is one of the most happening places around Kathmandu. Located in a tranquil atmosphere surrounded by green forest, Nagarkot is the nearest hill station from the capital city. There are many things to do in Nagarkot which will make your adventure exciting and memorable such that you will never feel bore in this village that is located near to the medieval city of Bhaktapur.
# Sunrise and Sunset View
Located at 2195m altitude, Nagarkot offers one of the best sunrise and sunset views over Himalaya. Along with sunrise view, it is also famous for mountain views.
# Trek to Changu Narayan
Changu Narayan is believed to be the oldest Narayan temple in Kathmandu Valley. This is a UNESCO Heritage site. Attractions in Changu include an ancient pillar that is believed to be founded by Mandeva in 464AD. Statue of Bhupalendra Malla, sculpture of Vaikuntha Vishnu, Chhinnamasta Temple, 7th century stone statue of Vishworup and other temples and statues.
# Visit Mahadev Pokhari 
Mahadev Pokhari is a tranquil lake located near Nagarkot. According to the myth, this lake was created by Lord Shiv.

Mountain biking is the best way to explore the rich natural grandeur of Nagarkot. You can easily hire a mountain bike in Thamel.
# Trek to Nagarkot
 Trek to Nagarkot is one of the best short trekking experience. You can either choose Sundarijal to Nagarkot trekking route via Sankhu or Bhaktapur to Changunarayan to Nagarkot trekking route.
# Nagarkot Village Trek
Villages in Nagarkot are often called villages above clouds. These villages are inhabited largely by friendly Tamang ethnics. Visiting their villages allow great insight into local life. 
# Visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square
The UNESCO site of Bhaktapur Durbar Square is one of the most visited sites in Kathmandu Valley. 55 Window Palace, Statue of Bhupatindra Malla and Nyatapola Temple are main attractions of Durbar Square. There are plenty of activities in Nagarkot such that you will never feel bored.
