Kakani Nagarkot trekking is the best option if you are looking for short Kathmandu Valley Rim Trek. Mountain viewing, birds watching, rhododendron flower, meadows, cascading waterfalls, hotspring, strawberry farms, rainbow trout fish farm, temples visit- you name it and Kakani to Nagarkot hiking has it all. This is the easy trek that can be completed within a week. The maximum elevation is just 2170m. Trekkers get ample opportunities to experience authentic Nepali culture and lifestyle in its raw state. Get up-close with amiable locals and learn about the time forgotten culture and traditions.
The famous picnic spot- Kakani is located 27km northwest of Kathmandu. We will drive from Kathmandu to Kakani. Climbing to the top of hill, we will get awe-inspiring views of majestic Annapurna Mountain, Dhaulagiri Mountain, Ganesh Mountain and other mountains. Kakani is also famous for its colourful strawberry farm and delicious Japanese rainbow trout fish. We will visit Kakani Memorial Park before beginning our Kakani Hiking.
From Kakani, we will reach Shivapuri via Ale Danda that is famous as a rhododendron hill. Kakani Nagarkot trek route continues through verdant forest of Shivpuri Watershed and Reserve to Chisapani. Shivpuri Conservation Area has provided shelter to several endangered and threatened wildlife. About 6hrs of trek from Chisapani will take us to the famous hill station of Nagarkot. If the weather remains fine, Nagarkot offers panoramic views of mountain range from Dhaulagiri in the west to Kanchenjunga in the east including world’s tallest Everest Mountain and Central other peaks including Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Langtang.

Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, Transfer to hotel
Once you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will go through custom formalities. Later, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to hotel. You will receive briefing regarding your trekking schedule. Enjoy pleasant stay in one of the star hotels in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Kakani (1082 m), Hike to Ale Danda
Kakani is the famous picnic spot near Kathmandu. Located 27km northwest of Kathmandu, Kakani can easily be reached in one and half hours of drive. Enjoy the views of Annapurna Mountain, Dhaulagiri Mountain, Ganesh Mountain and other mountains. Kakani is famous for colourful strawberry farm and delicious Japanese rainbow trout fish. Trekking begins at Kakani. Visit Kakani Memorial Park and then walk to Ale Danda. Stay overnight in Ale Danda.   
 
Day 03: Ale Danda to Shivapuri
Ale Danda is one of the nearest hill from Kathmandu to observe blooming rhododendron. The perfect season to watch rhododendron is Spring (March and April). From Ale Danda, we will traverse forest of pine, oak and rhododendron for 5-6hrs to reach Shivapuri hill where we will stay overnight in lodge.

Day 04: Shivapuri to Chisapani
Walking through the verdant Shivpuri Hill that is a rich bird watching site, we will reach Chisapani (a place of cold water). Chisapani is a small village located at 2194m altitude in Shivpuri Hill. Walk past forest, meadows and waterfalls to reach Chisapani. Enjoy splendid sunset view and views of majestic Langtang Ri and other mountains. Stay overnight in lodge.

Day 05: Chisapani to Nagarkot
Leaving Chisapani village, our journey proceeds to Chauki Bhanjyang which is located 2 and half hours of walking distance far from Chisapani. Following the descending trail from Chauki Bhanjyang, we will reach Nagarkot. In a pleasant day, we can get glimpse of entire range from Dhaulagiri to Everest. Stay overnight in luxurious hotel.
 
Day 06: Nagarkot to Kathmandu Drive, Free Day
Leave Nagarkot early in the morning. Drive to Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Visit Dattatreya Square, Nyatapol Temple and golden gate. Drive back to Kathmandu. You are on your own. Enjoy your free day.
 
Day 07: Departure
This is the last day of Kakani Nagarkot trekking. You will be assisted in last minute preparation and then transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport three hours before your flight schedule. Have a Safe Journey.  We expect to see you soon.
