Nagarkot Changunarayan Trek is one of the best short trekking in Kathmandu. Both

Nagarkot to Changunarayan Trek   begins on the third day after participating in Kathmandu Sightseeing during which you will be taken on sightseeing of some of the Kathmandu UNESCO sites like Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. We will take the alternate way from Kathmandu to Nagarkot via Sankhu. Sankhu is the ancient Newari town. Sankhu used to be important trade centre for trade in between Tibet and Kathmandu. Leaving Sankhu, take 4hrs of trek through rhododendron forest to Nagarkot.  We can extend Nagarkot and Changunarayan trek by visiting Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
Located just 35km far from Kathmandu, Nagarkot is the nearest hill station from Kathmandu which is located at 2,100 m altitude. Enjoy sunrise view from Nagarkot before taking Changunarayan Trekking. About 4hrs of trek will take us to Changunarayan- the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu. Explore the UNESCO area of Changunarayan temple. Observe the ancient sculptures that represent the rich architecture of Hindu.

Day01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Once you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will go through custom formalities. Later, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to hotel. You will receive briefing regarding your trekking schedule. Enjoy pleasant stay in one of the star hotels in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley
Take breakfast and participate in Kathmandu Sightseeing. Visit the famous Monkey Temple which is known as Swoyambhunath Stupa. Believed to have been found more than 25000yrs before, Swoyambhunath is the oldest stupa in the world. Next, hike to Nepal’s largest Bouddhanath Stupa where you can witness Tibetan culture in its finest form. Hike to Basantapur Durbar Square to observe ancient Royal Palace of Nepal before returning to hotel.
  
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Sankhu, Trek to Nagarkot
After breakfast, we will leave Kathmandu and drive to ancient Sankhu town which was founded around 1st century BC. Four gates were built at its four entry points for security purpose. Nagarkot Dhulikhel Trekking begins from Newari town of Sankhu. Walk along rustic houses and crop fields to holy Sali River where Swasthani ceremony is observed during month of Magh. 4hrs of trek from Sankhu will take us to Nagarkot where we will stay overnight.

Day04: Nagarkot to Changunarayan Trek
Walk up to the view tower for sunrise view. Return to the hotel for breakfast. About 4hrs of trek will take us to Changunarayan. Lower down from Nagarkot along the ridge to Changunarayan temple. We can get views of Sankhu and Bhaktapur cities from Changunarayan. Built in 323 AD by King Hari Datta Varma, this is one of the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu. Explore around Changunarayan and return to Kathmandu. Stay overnight in hotel in Kathmandu.

Day05: Departure
This is the last day of Nagarkot Changunarayan trek. You will be helped in last minute packing and transferred to international airport 3hrs before your scheduled flight. Safe journey.
