Overview
Nagarkot Day Hiking Tours is for those who are looking for a place of retreat from the hectic and mundane daily life not so far from capital city. Nagarkot Hiking route begins from the ancient Newari town of Sankhu and stretches via the holy Sali River, pine forest, lush valley and paddy fields to the top of Nagarkot hill that lies at the staggering height of 2195m.
You will be picked up from the hotel and taken to the scenic town of Sankhu which was founded around 1st century BC. Women weaving traditional haku patasi dress, corn hanging from the roof and chillies left on road for drying purpose give the sense of pastoral setting. We will walk through cobbled street to sacred Sali River. A great ceremony is organized in the month of Magh during which pilgrims from far and wide visit this place to worship Swasthani goddess. The trail twists and turns through the pine forest to Nagarkot view tower from where we will witness the glimpse of breathtaking sunset over Himalayas along with mountain views from Annapurna to Everest. Later, a private vehicle will escort you back to the hotel in Kathmandu. Nagarkot Tour can be the best way to celebrate the weekend.
